Super delicious test-run dinner!

Chicken Francaise (half gone!)
Well, Sean & I finally made it to City Hall to try the dishes we're considering serving at our wedding. Let me just say straight out that the food was phenomenal. You will eat well at our wedding, I assure you.

We started off with shrimp cocktail, which was served with homemade cocktail sauce as well as a less-traditional mustard mayonnaise. The shrimp was fresh and tender.

The main entrees we chose were Chicken Francaise and (vegetarian) mushroom risotto with truffle oil and Parmesan cheese. They were delicious. The risotto was rich and savory, and the chicken was tender, moist, and flavorful.  As a side, we had haricots verts (green beans) sauteed with shallots.

For dessert, we shared a slice of red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, which is what our wedding cake will be. It was rich, moist, and not too sweet.

After this meal, I know we've made the right menu selections, and if the other options are half as good as what we tried tonight, everyone should be very happy.
